Can We Talk About That?

Blind Spots

Pardon me if I don’t ignore the elephant in the room. Perhaps you think it wrong, rude, cynical or judgmental to point out. But elephants, within rooms, shouldn’t be ignored.

Perhaps you do not see it. You may be situated where areas it is just out of your sight – in aImage blind spot.

We all have those, blind spots, that is. Blind spots naturally occur because of a lack of light to the eyes in a certain area due to an absence of cells. Since there is no light entering in that area an entire part of the field of vision is not perceived. The brain interpolates the blind spot based on surrounding detail and information from the other eye, so the blind spot is not normally perceived.

The problem with blind spots, you see, is that they are dangerous to those who are in them. And yet, how does one correct these if they are naturally occurring?

Well, perhaps we might consider trusting the other parts of the Body to sense and communicate what we ourselves cannot.
