Ripple Effects

“It only takes a spark, remember, to set off a forest fire. A careless or wrongly placed word out of your mouth can do that. By our speech we can ruin the world, turn harmony to chaos, throw mud on a reputation, send the whole world up in smoke and go up in smoke with it, smoke right from the pit of hell  (James 3:6, The Message).”

A single drop of water on a tranquil surface is felt far beyond the moment of impact. We call this the ripple effect. Water is a life giving substance…

On a similar note: We cannot fight fire with fire… Unless we just want more of the same.

When you fight fire with fire, the ripple effect is the same, all we will get is MORE fire.  If the goal is life giving — we fight fires with water.

Either way you choose, the impact will be felt far beyond the moment…
