Leadership Parable — Biblical Principles For Leading & Following Well
I’ve Got Your Back is an excellent book written to assist upcoming leaders with a Biblical foundation for both followership and leadership. Many followers have been the subject of abuse and have decided that they do not want a thing to do with being in a leadership position themselves. Some have developed issues with authority because of mistreatment and need guidance to heal in order to embrace their talent as a leader. James C. Galvin, co-author of the Life Application Bible, writes about a new kind of leader, who will first learn to be a good follower.
The first half of the book is arranged in a parable about four young people under poor leaders who are coached into good followership so that they can discover how to lead well. At the end of the story, the author outlines a theology of Biblical principles for five levels within three types of followership, as well as leadership. I give it four stars and recommend it to any upcoming leader.
