Can We Talk About That?

Mormon Missionaries – Sold-out and diligent in sharing their faith – Are we.??

another testament of Jesus Christ

Holy Bible and the book of Mormon

“So shall My word be which goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it,” (Isaiah 55:11).

Top Christianity FREE Books

Last night, completely by happenstance, while browsing in the iTunes store i discovered that 2 of the Top 10 and 3 of the Top 20 Christianity FREE Books were those of the Mormons.

I thought of this article my pastor shared a few days ago: “A State Seeks to Be Heard in a New World Economy: Why Mormons are Dealing with Globalization. Language Programs Flower in Utah’s Schools – Utah, with a history of missionary work, hopes to create a bilingual workforce, in part to lure international businesses.”

This evening at dinner i was telling my family about the article, several of the Mormon books being in the top free downloads and how the Mormons are all about their mission when it comes to sharing their faith..

And then…

After dinner, just before dark a couple of Mormon “Missionaries” who wanted to make sure God’s word was being shared with the lost, showed up on our porch with a free “testament” and a prayer for our family. I have seen them often and here all this time i was thinking they were probably Jehovah Witness, since we do have some of those visit often also.

Anyway, this is the second time in the last five days someone of a ‘variant’ faith has showed up on our front porch wanting to make sure our family knows about Jesus/God. WoW.

I see these two (most kind and courteous) young Mormon men knocking on doors and praying with folks on their porches at least once every couple of weeks or so. They are sold-out, diligent and serious about sharing their faith — Are we.??

Perhaps this will help…

‘Rom. 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” What is the Gospel? 1 Cor. 15:1-4 says it is the sacrificial death and physical resurrection of Jesus for sins. It is the powerful message of salvation to sinners. If you know that the Word of God will accomplish what God wants it to and if you know that the gospel has power to save, then it should ease your mind to know that in witnessing you are using two very powerful weapons: God’s Word and God’s Gospel. The Word of God is the Bible. The Gospel of God is His revelation of redemption.’
‘John 12:32, “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself.” Here Jesus speaks specifically about His crucifixion. It is He who draws to Himself all who are to be saved. When you present the gospel (1 Cor. 15:1-4), the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus for sins, Jesus draws the sinner to Himself. He does the work, not you.’
As a Christian, you are to witness with truth, honesty, and integrity. As the Lord provides the opportunity, you should respond in lovingkindness with a humble and gentle spirit (2 Tim. 2:24). And in that, you should point people to Jesus. It is He alone who saves.

‘If you know that God’s Word will accomplish what God desires, that the gospel is powerful to save, and that it is Jesus who draws all men to Himself, then you should realize that the responsibility of salvation does not rest on you, but on God. You are the teacher, the deliverer of good news. “How shall they believe in Him who they have not heard?” (Rom. 10:14). You help them hear.!’

‘These three verses should help you to gain confidence. You witness; God saves. You plant the seeds; God waters. He uses you. It is His Word that accomplishes salvation. It is His gospel that is powerful. It is His Son Jesus who draws. You witness in power when you witness with the Word of God.’  Need more – read more at: http://carm.org/three-important-verses-witnessing

BLOWIN’ IN THE WIND — Bob Dylan — 1962 Warner Bros. Inc

How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man?

Yes, ‘n’ how many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand?

Yes, ‘n’ how many times must the cannon balls fly
Before they’re forever banned?

The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind,
The answer is blowin’ in the wind.

How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?

Yes, ‘n’ how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?

Yes, ‘n’ how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?

The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind,
The answer is blowin’ in the wind.

How many years can a mountain exist
Before it’s washed to the sea?

Yes, ‘n’ how many years can some people exist
Before they’re allowed to be free?

Yes, ‘n’ how many times can a man turn his head,
Pretending he just doesn’t see?

The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind,
The answer is [still] blowin’ in the wind…

Bob Dylan wrote this in 1962 as a young man concerned with the issues that he saw in the world at that time.  If you watch the video it gives [print] clips/quotes from interviews he has done over the years.  He believed this a song that would speak to all the [coming] ages  ……and today in the 2000’s unfortunately these things are still an issue in many ways in every [social] circle of every nation.

Therefore, I’d say he was most unfortunately correct.  However, the answer my friends is not blowing in the wind because it is an unknowable mystery of life… nor is it an unapproachable chalet high in the mountains or skies.  It is still blowing in the wind because [the majority of] the human race will not allow it to come in and make a change.
